World Cup Ghana's World Cup opponents Uganda coach Micho unpaid over four months salaries despite historic Afcon berth
SEP 24, 2016 LISTEN

Despite qualifying Uganda to their first ever Africa Cup of Nations since 1978, Serbian trainer Milutin Micho Sredejovic has not been paid for over three months, Ghanasoccernet.com has gathered.

In a group with Burkina Faso, Botswana and Comoros, Micho managed to qualify the Cranes of Uganda placing second with the same points as leaders Burkina Faso.

Uganda had missed out at the Afcon tournament for the past 38 years and the dramatic celebrations that engulfed the country demonstrated the hunger of the East Africans.

But despite his relentless efforts in getting the Cranes book a ticket for the African fiesta in Gabon, Micho is still pleading for his rightful entitlement like a church mouse.

Even though the coy remains silent on the matter, sources close to him in Uganda as well as various reports in the country have revealed that Micho is still owed huge sums of money in salaries.

Further queries by Ghanasoccernet.com have also revealed that Micho is not only owed monthly salaries but also some considerable amounts in winning bonuses when they were playing in the qualifiers.

Ugandans are however hoping that the development will not affect the psyche of the team as they prepare fervently for the group opener of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers with the Black Stars of Ghana next month in Tamale.
