Ghana international Kevin-Prince Boateng has revealed that the Black Stars should have played in the semi-finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Many Ghanaians are yet to come to terms with Luis Suarez ungodly 'handball' clearance off Uruguay's goal line to deny Ghana a historic feat of bettering Africa's quarter final record at the World Cup.

Suarez consequently conceded a penalty and was expelled from the game with only seconds to go, however Asamoah Gyan's kick grazed the bar and away it flew, ushering in a penalty shootout eventually won by Uruguay. Read more: Kevin-Prince Boateng red carded in Las Palmas thrashing

In an interview with FIFA TV, 29-year-old Boateng opened up on his experience with Ghana at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups.

'After getting out of the group it was definitely our aim to reach the semi-finals. I think we deserved to as well, people could see how much passion there was in our game, we had the fans and the whole continent behind us.'

'I could not play at the same level in 2014 for a thousand reasons.' Boateng added.
