Sports News Albert Adomah: Aston Villa fans hail signing of Ghanaian
AUG 31, 2016 LISTEN

Aston Villa  completed their ninth signing of the summer on deadline day afternoon with the arrival of winger  Albert Adomah  from  Premier League  side Middlesbrough.

Villa had already spent over £50 million on new players including strikers Ross McCormack and Jonathan Kodjia this transfer window before agreeing a deal to bring Adomah to Villa Park.

The 28-year-old is the first genuine wide player to join Villa this season and should add much-needed pace and direct play to Roberto di Matteo's side.

His time at Boro was mixed; he was a key part of their side for three years in the Championship  and played a big role in their promotion-winning side last term, but was occasionally accused of laziness and lack of end product.

Villa fans will be hoping that that he shows the good side of his game more often that the bad this term as they hope to have built a side capable of winning promotion themselves.

Though there is some talk that another signing could yet arrive before Wednesday's 11pm deadline, Adomah looks likely to be one of the final pieces of the puzzle at Villa this summer.

Reacting to the deal on Twitter, Villa fans were quick to voice their optimism about what Adomah can bring to their side this season.

Adomah is a good signing for #AVFC. Good on both feet, pace, power, goals and Championship experience. Good work. #EFL — Kyle Dixon (@KyleDixon95) 2013-07-22 14:22:09.0
