Chief Director at the National Sports College (NSC), Mr. Erasmus D.K Adorkor has said that the people of Winneba are going to benefit immensely from the proposed ultra modern sports complex to be built in the Effutu Constituency.
“I am extremely delighted that after lots of consultations and deliberations, we are getting closer to the start of the project,” Mr. Adorkor told www.sports24gh.com
“This project has the capacity to employ lots of people living in Winneba and its surrounding communities. It’ll provide employment in areas such as carpentry, masonry, steel welders, electricians, drivers amongst others,” he said.
According to Mr. Erasmus Adorkor people with special technical know how will also be looked at.
The Chief Director (Mr. Erasmus Adorkor) however, expressed his profound gratitude to the Paramount Chief of Winneba, Neenyi Ghartey VII for his support and guidance.
The Public Private Partnership Project for National Sports College when completed will have facilities such as an eight-lane Olympic sized swimming pool, synthetic and natural soccer pitches conforming to international standard, hockey pitch, gymnasium, athletic field, male and female hostels, cafeteria, laboratories, and many more indoor game facilities.
The project is set to begin on January 2017 and is expected to be built in phases.
Meanwhile, the old National Sports College will also be upgraded to meet the shape of the new one.
