Aston Villa manager Roberto Di Matteo has stated that sought-after striker Jordan Ayew will be staying with the Championship club.
The Ghana striker has been linked with a move away from Villa Park after their demotion from the Premier League last season.
Ayew was the club's top scorer last term with seven goals in 30 league matches in the English top-flight.
Villa fans have been worried that the 24-year-old would consider playing in a top league but Di Matteo announced at a press conference the player will be staying.
"Jordan Ayew is going to be part of our plans and is going to stay here. His qualities will shine," said Di Matteo.
Aston Villa begin their Championship campaign at Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday, 07 August.
