Hearts of Oak maintained their unbeaten away record as they came from behind to draw with Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

In the much anticipated clash in Kumasi in front of a large crowd, Kotoko took the lead through striker Kwame Boateng who made his first start for Kotoko in the second round of the league after squeezing the ball past Soulama Abdoulaye.

The goal came after brilliant play from Emmanuel Gyamfi when he half volleyed a pass from Richard Osei Agyeman which was expertly parried by Soulama who save fell in the path of Kwame Boateng.

The Porcupine Warriors remained in the ascendancy in the first half with the combination of Frank Sarfo Gyamfi and Emmanuel Gyamfi terrorizing the Hearts back line but failed to capitalize with leading striker Daudaawi Mohammed looking jaded after he played with the Black Satellites on Friday.

Portuguese Sergio Traguil made a halftime change introducing Eric Kumi for Leonard Tawiah at half time with the move providing the needed pace and freshness for the Phobians.

The change finally paid dividend when new boy Patrick Razak levelled the game after slotting the ball past Ernest Sowah following a lovely weighted pass from Isaac Mensah.

Both clubs huffed and puffed for the go ahead goal but a combination of woeful finishing and great goalkeeping kept the scoreline level.

The result means the Phobians maintain their 5 point lead over their eternal rivals.
