As many as three officials of Mighty Royals are on admission at the Goaso Government Hospital after being beaten up by irate fans of Unity FC during their Division One League match on Wednesday.
Fans of both sides clashed at the Nana Bosompra Stadium but Unity FC fans who outnumbered their guests inflicted injuries on Mighty Royals.
The incident started right from the commencement of the game.
Mighty Royals supporters interrupted play after referee disallowed their first goal for offside.
The match restarted and the home side Unity FC scored a goal which Royals fans felt was not a clear goal and it resulted in little misunderstanding in which a person was hit by a metal.
He was rushed to the Goaso Government Hospital in a Police vehicle in the absence of an ambulance.
The match continued for about 15 minutes but the Mighty Royals bench had to be relocated
Another misunderstanding occurred and the game had to be halted for 20 minutes by officials with the aid of security personnel present.
