Oyibi (G/R), July 7, GNA - Fifteen senior members of the Ghana Hapkido Association have successfully undergone a promotional training test in Hapkido, a form of martial arts at Oyibi.

The test was organised by the Ghana chapter of the Chun Ki Do Association, Africa, which is affiliated to the World Chun Ki Do Association and Tiger & Dragon Association, both in Germany.

The Hapkido senior member's promotion test was an initiative of the Association and aimed at promoting the sport in Ghana and the African continent, as well as upgrading the standard of its members to help train others in the sub region.

The participants were taken through Hapkido techniques such as, focus and concentration test, punch cover punch, mental concentration and information processing, palm, elbow, finger and clothing techniques.

At the end of the training, three auxiliary instructors were promoted from brown belt to black belt, whiles 12 others were promoted from blue to red belts.

Master Raphael Sylvanus Akoto, President of Chun Ki Do Association of Africa said similar training and and promotion test would be organized in the Republic of Togo and Benin, who are also members of the association, next month.

Master Adjevi D. Koffi, 4th Dan Black Belt holder in Hapkido urged the senior members of the association to train hard to develop the sport among children in the region.

The 15 participants were drawn from Accra, Eastern and Ashanti Regions.
