Miami FC have announced the signing Ghana striker Kwadwo Poku from New York City FC.

"We are thrilled to be bringing on a player like Poku onto our roster,' said Mauro Pederzoli, Technical Director for Miami FC.

"Poku adds a physical presence to our attack and we believe he will help us achieve our goals for the fall season."

Poku is true product of the American soccer system, getting his start with, NPSL side, Georgia Revolution in 2011.

Poku would go on to lead the Georgia Revolution in scoring two consecutive season.

Local NASL side, the Atlanta Silverbacks would go on to sign him 2014.

In his short time with the Silverbacks Poku made a major impact, netting a game-winner against Real Salt Lake in the U.S. Open Cup.

His talent was noticed by the MLS, with NYCFC going out of its way to acquire the young attacking midfielder.

The expansion team traded away a draft pick to the Seattle Sounders in order to bring Poku on.

He would go on to play in 32 matches and score five goals.

Poku's rise to prominence culminated with his first cap representing Ghana in the friendly against Canada last October.
