The draw for the African Qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament was held on Friday, June 24, 2016. The Black Stars of Ghana have been drawn in Group E with Uganda, Congo and Egypt.
Ghana went into the draw seeded in Pot 1 with Algeria, Cote d'Ivoire, Senegal and Tunisia.
Pot 2 had Cape Verde, Congo DR, Egypt, Mali and Nigeria with Pot 3 seeding Cameroon Congo, Guinea, Morocco and South Africa.
The last pot which was Pot 4 had Burkina Faso, Gabon, Libya, Uganda and Zambia.
