Ghanaian defender Dennis Appiah says he opted to sign for Anderlecht because the Belgian side are an ambitious team and says the move is a step higher in his career.
The right back has penned a three-year contract with the Brussels-based side from French outfit Caen.
Appiah in an interview with L'Equipe revealed: "I didn't want to go to just any team, and that is exactly what Anderlecht are. They are a special team.
"Anderlecht are following me since the month of January. At that time, I didn't believe it was the right time to leave.
"Now, I visited Anderlecht and their facilities at Neerpede. I thought about it; and this looks to be the right choice for me.
"This seems to be an ambitious team, they want to win the title every year.
"There is always a lot of pressure here and I can play in the Champions League or the Europe League here. This is a step higher for me."
Appiah made 38 Ligue 1 appearances and scored one goal last season.
