The Black Stars midfielder has jumped to the defence of his national team skipper Asamoah Gyan , regarding accusation of funding the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
A journalist in the course of the week accused Asamoah Gyan of financing the NPP, alleging that the Shanghai SIPG striker has had meetings with the opposition party with intention of importing branded T-shirts and cutlass from China ahead of the November General elections in Ghana.
However, Gyan has denied such claims by the journalist describing the act as 'irresponsible journalism'
And Agyemang Badu has added his voice to it by indicating that his teammate is not a politician and can't do anything to disrupt the peace the nation is enjoying.
'It is unfortunate the presenter made that report,' he told Happy FM.
"Gyan is not into politics; he is just a footballer. We all know the good works he is doing in Ghana - he is a philanthropist.
"He is helping people in the country and I don't know why someone will wake up and say he is doing politics.
'It is so unfortunate for the presenter to say that.
"I will urge Ghanaians to throw their support behind Gyan.'
