18 Players turn up for Stars first training ahead of AFCON Qualifier

Accra, May 31, GNA - The senior national football team the Black Stars had their first training session for the ACFON 2017 qualifier against Mauritius with 18 players present at the Accra sports stadium.

The Black Stars will hold two training sessions today before they travel to Port Louis on Wednesday for the return leg, after beating Mauritius by 7:1 at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg of the ACFON 2017.

Ghana is leading Group H with 10 points with Mauritius third with 6 points from 4 games, a draw for Ghana will seal their place at next year's AFCON in Gabon.

Players present at the Black Stars first full training ahead of Mauritius game are Goalkeepers Fatau Dauda (AshantiGold) and Richard Ofori (Wa All Stars)

Defenders: Harrison Afful (Columbus Crew, USA), Jeffery Schlupp (Leicester City, England), Baba Rahman (Chelsea, England), John Boye (Sivasspor, Turkey), Jonathan Mensah (Anzhi, Russia), Kadri Mohammed (AshantiGold)

Midfielders: Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu (Udinese, Italy), Afriyie Acquah (Torino, Italy), Samuel Tetteh (WAFA), Mubarak Wakaso (Las Palmas, Spain), Frank Acheampong (Anderlecht, Belgium), Christian Atsu (Malaga, Spain)

Forwards: Andre Ayew (Swansea City, Wales), Jordan Ayew (Aston Villa, England), Ebenezer Assifuah (Sion, Switzerland), Patrick Twumasi (FC Astana, Kazakhstan)

The rest of the stars players expected to join up with the 18 are Goalkeeper Razak Braimah, Daniel Amartey, Alfred Duncan, Edwin Gyimah and Thomas Partey.
