Medeama ace Malik Akowuah confident side will excel in Confederation Cup group stage

Medeama midfield Malik Akowuah insist his side won't be pushovers in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The two-time Ghanaian FA Cup holders have drawn giants TP Mazembe as well as Mo Bejaia (Algeria) and Tanzanian side Young Africans in pool A.

The Mauve and Yellows have their work cut out for them ahead of the start of the group stage next months.

And Medeama's workaholic enforcer, Malik Akowuah, remains defiant about his side's chances.

'Is a difficult group, but we know all these Club especially TP Mazembe and MO Beijia. Most of these Clubs do not know as well and is an advantage for us,' he spoke to Ghana Sports paper.

'I believe we can excel in the Group , no one gave us a chance to get this far but we have been able to reach the Money zone and am sure we can pull a surprise, we lets jets wait and see what happened.'

Medeama eliminated South African side Mamelodi Sundowns to secure a historic qualification to the group stage.
