Activa international insurance donates to MTN SWAG Awards night

Accra, May 26, GNA - Activa International Insurance, one of the country's leading insurance companies has presented a cheque of GH¢ 30,000 to the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) towards the 41st MTN SWAG Awards.

At a short ceremony held at the Head Office of Activa, in Accra, the Director General of Activa International Insurance, Mr Steve Kyerematen, presented the cheque to SWAG's president, Kwabena Yeboah and pledged its continuous support to recognize individuals and bodies that excels in their various sporting disciplines.

Mr Kyerematen said 'Activa International Insurance has been supporting the Sports Writers Association of Ghana, as a major sponsor in organizing its annual Awards night for the past four years, which without doubt is the most prestigious and highly recognized awards ceremony in honour of our gallant sports personalities in all sporting disciplines in Ghana.'

Mr Kyerematen also used the occasion to commend other bodies, who are supporting the SWAG Awards Night and also urged "other institutions to get involved in encouraging sports heroes who always bring Ghanaians together anytime they are engaged in sports competitions and put smiles on the faces of many with their victories."

Kwabena Yeboah expressed the association's appreciation to Activa international insurance for their support in ensuring that the sports stars, who brought joy and pride to the nation are honoured.

Mr Yeboah said through the annual SWAG Awards, many budding talents have been honoured, which had served as a big motivation to these young talents to become national heroes in later years.

Activa is an international insurance company in Ghana, providing a solid insurance coverage to individuals and corporate Ghanaians in all class of insurance other than life insurance.

The 41st MTN SWAG Awards will come off on Saturday June 4 at the Banquet Hall of the State House.
