League Report Ghana Premier League: Medeama SC pip Wa All Stars, Techiman City hold Inter Allies
MAY 1, 2016 LISTEN

Medeama SC piped league leaders Wa All Stars 1-0 on Sunday at the T&A Park in Tarkwa in week 10 of the 2016 Ghana Premier League .

The Tarkwa giants after losing their week 2 fixture to Hearts of Oak have been very solid at home winning all their subsequent home games prior to their clash with the Wa based club.

It was a game which was keenly contested in the first half as both sides failed to score as Wa All Stars were resolute at the back giving no space to Medeama's attack lead by Abass Mohammed.

However, in the second half, Medeama dominated Wa All Stars leading to their 60 minute goal courtesy second half substitute Benjamin Bature who came on for Moses Sarpong.

Medeama then protected their lead as Wa All Stars failed to get the equalizer.

Wa All Stars might lose their top spot should Hearts of Oak beat Asante Kotoko in the 'Super Clash' on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

At the Tema Sports Stadium, Inter Allies woes got deepened after they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Techiman City.

Inter Allies before the game had gone two games without a win, losing 2-0 at Wa All Stars and 1-0 to Medeama SC in Tarkwa.

The Techiman based club struck the first goal in the 20 minute through Ebenezer Agyapong after he neatly headed home Baba Mahama's cross.

On the stroke of half-time, Evans Mensah restored parity for Inter Allies who looked dispirited in the game.

The home side after the break mounted an intense pressure on the away side but Yusif Abubakar's side defended very well to earn a well-deserved point at Tema.
