League Report Stephen Appiah: Ex-Black Stars captain happy for Hearts of Oak
APR 26, 2016 LISTEN

Ex-Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah has expressed his delight in Hearts of Oak's bright start to the Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians are at the second position on the log sheet with 18 points after 9 Premier League games and they are the only side yet to lose an away game in the ongoing campaign.

Appiah, who in the 90's played for Hearts of Oak is happy to see his former side displaying great piece of football on the field of play.

'I was very happy to see their Japanese coach on the bench during their victory against AshGold,' Appiah told Accra based Citi-FM

'They have done well in fact I have seen all their home games and I continue to watch their games whenever I can.'

'On a personal note I am very happy that they have had a strong start to the season. Clearly they want to win the league but there is still a long way to go.'

Hearts of Oak on May 2 will host their bitterest rivals Asante Kotoko on match day 10 of the Ghana Premier League.
