The Media Officer of Kuwait Premier League side Al Qadsia FC, Farouk Alawadhi says the media in the country argue that Rashid Sumaila should be playing in the big European league and not in Kuwait.
He maintains that the performance of the player places him in a class above other defenders in the Kuwait Premier League.
'The media here in Kuwait keep saying Rashid should be in the European league and not in the Kuwaiti Premier League because he is a great player,' Farouk disclosed.
'Because of the way he plays, we all think he should not be playing in Africa or Asia but in the big European league.
We have not seen a player like him before in the Kuwaiti League so we know he is not a material for our league,' he added.
The 23-year old Rashid Sumaila has been nominated for the best foreign player award in the Kuwait League as well as the best defender award.
