Ghana's Black Stars rose three places in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola world rankings released on Thursday.
According to the rankings, the Black Starsre now 38th in the world with 693 points. They were 41st in the previous ranking.
In Africa, Avram Grant's side occupy the 3rd position behind Algeria and Cote d'Ivoire.
The highest ranked African team in the world is Algeria who moved from 37th to 33rd in the world.
In the 34th position is reigning African champions Cote d'Ivoire who moved two places.
Meanwhile, Argentina are now the number one ranked team in the world after moving from number two.
Former number one, Belgium, drop to number two, in number three is Chile, four is Colombia and world champions Germany are fifth.
