Sports minister-designate, Nii Lante Vanderpuije has revealed that he will adopt ET Mensah’s administrative style during his tenure at the ministry.

The Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, who is the longest serving Sports Minister in Ghana’s history is believed to have adopted an ‘interruption and intervention’ strategy which saw him spend eight years in office between April 1993 and January 2001.

“Under ET Mensah, I learnt a lot, with different styles of doing things. The ones you have to approach by taking drastic decisions and the one that you have to be tactful.

ET Mensah has two methods. Intervention and interruption,” the MP for the Odododiodoo constituency told Morning Starr host Nii Arday Clegg Wednesday on Starr 103.5FM.

13 ministers have been appointed in the last 14 years for the Sports Ministry, however, none has been able to last for more than two years at the Ministry but Vanderpuije believes he will be the Sports minister beyond 2017.

“I am very positive and it is my hope and prayer and I am praying seriously that I will not be changed and I believe in my prayer that I will not be changed. I will continue at the Ministry of Youth and Sports even in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.”

The former Deputy Local Government Minister who faced Parliament’s Appointment Committee Monday for vetting will move into his new ministry after his nomination is approved by the committee.
