Duncan describes league as a marathon; insists Asante Kotoko will clinch ultimate
09.02.2016 LISTEN

Asante Kotoko head coach David Duncan says the upcoming league is a marathon and that the Porcupine Warriors will not rush themselves into it as the fittest will survive.

The pre-season preparations of the Porcupine Warriors have been lauded by many who believe that the Reds are in a better position for the upcoming league title.

But the outspoken gaffer of the Oseikrom Boys insists that there are other teams in the league who cannot be underrated, hence making the competition a marathon instead of a short sprint.

In an exclusive chat with GHANAsoccernet.com, Duncan said 'It's a marathon and not a sprint race. So we will take a game at a time, and find out what happens after the 30th game of the season.'

Symbolizing the league matches to a marathon race, the confident looking Duncan explained that playing 30 matches in a season for a title depends on a lot of factors as your opponents results in other matches also determines what happens to your ambitions in the season.

He added that whilst his side is winning their matches, other teams will also be fighting to win their s and that makes the competition keener.

Duncan believes that he can win his first league title since commencing his coaching expedition in Ghana but will have to tackle the matches one after the other as some players can get injured, suspended as well as officiating can also affect the race.
