Ghana and Aston Villa forward Jordan Ayew says he has moved on from his 'foolish' act that saw him sent off in the first half of the game against West Ham United.

The 24-year-old was marched off by referee Jonathan Moss in the 17th minute after he elbowed West Ham defender Aaron Cresswell in an off-the-ball incident.

The  Ghanaian has since come in for a lot bashing both from fans and pundits of the game but Ayew says he has moved on from the unfortunate incident and is hoping to make amends when he is on the field.

'I take full responsibility for my actions and I don't wish to dwell on my mistake but rather look forward to playing again to prove myself to be true to claret and blue as I have done from the moment I joined AVFC and I do not intend to slow down now.'

Ayew joined Aston Villa from Lorient in the French league last summer and is the clubs highest scorer with 5 goals this season.
