Ghana premier league side, Medeama SC have confirmed the release of five players from its first team ahead of the upcoming season.

The affected players that failed to get into the final list of Coach Tom Strand are former Hearts of Oak and Kotoko defender Kofi Agyare, Kennedy Boateng, Ebenezer Agyei, Noah Mensah and Hubert Ampah.

Ben Kesse, the administrative manager of the club in an  interview with Allsports.com.gh confirmed the release of the five players,

'What you heard is true, five players have been released by the club under the guidance of the head coach Tom Strand and we wish them well in their future endeavors,' he said.

Last season the Tarkwa based club failed to impress in the league but defiled all odds to win the prestigious MTN FA Cup trophy for the second time in the club history after beating the then defending champions Asante Kotoko 2-1 at the Essipong Sports stadium.

With the FA Cup win, the Mauve and Yellows will be returning to Africa inter club competitions for the second time in three years.
