Accra, Nov. 26, GNA - The Board Chairman and majority Shareholder of Accra Hearts of Oak football clubTogbe Afede XIV has stated that, the club won't commit mistakes of signing old players for the coming season.

Speaking at the Annual General Meeting of the club at the International Conference Center Accra, Mr. Afede noted that, the technical department of the club headed by new coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi is preparing adequately to restore the Phobian glory.

The management of the club has come under severe bashing from the supporters for their failure to sign quality players to beef up the squad and are of the view that the club will struggle again and may not be able to win the league.

He said ''we have learnt our lessons and we can't sign old players. We have signed returnees before and only a few proved themselves. We believe in scouting a player throughout the season and not just from a game.

''We have had our experiences and we are doing things prudently, so we don't want to rush in signing platers. Our technical team is working and preparing towards the season''.

The Board Chairman refuted claims that the club was not signing quality players for the 2015/2016 season, saying ''don't be misled that we are not signing the big players. We are working. We want to correct the mistakes we did in the past''.

Togbe Afede said it is the desire of the club to achieve success and believes they are on track with their vision.

The Board Chairman also described former Coach Mohammed Polo as the best trainer he has ever worked with, adding that, ''Polo wasn't allowed the time to do his work''.
