The Porcupine Warriors Kumasi Asante Kotoko has quit its decision to boycott the 36th SIC Nyemitei SWAG Cup against soccer miners AshantiGold.

Asante Kotoko had threatened to boycott the match which is billed to come off this Sunday, November 29 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi due to personal reasons, but according to a letter from the Ashanti Regional Circles Council (ARCC), the club has called off the boycott and is ready to play their regional rivals.

The SWAG Cup, formerly the SWAG Gold Cup is played in honour of the late H.P Nyemitei, former Deputy Managing Director of the then State Insurance Corporation, now SIC Insurance.

The SWAG Cup is played between the two most dominant clubs in the country. AshantiGold is the defending champions of the SWAG Cup haven’t won the coveted title from Hearts of Oak the last time it was staged in 2012.
