Two quick goals in the space of 74 seconds and blistering shot from Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez was enough for Arsenal to tear Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United apart on Super Sunday at the Emirate.

The Dutch tactical wizard who spent much time during the pre season massaging player transfer issues and isolating Spaniard Victor Valdez from his team could not muster a plan which could keep the grips on Arsenal’s quick in-field attacking ploy.

For the first time in few years, the gunners managed to put three well rehearsed training grounds goals past United and but for Aaron Ramsey and Theo Walcott, Arsenal could have gone six goals in the first half where the Red Devils were just chasing shadows.

Alexis Sanchez gave Arsenal the deserving lead in the 6th minute with an aesthetic in-foot kick. Welsh midfielder, Ramsey fed Ozil down the right; the German pass master tweaked one into United’s goal area for the Chilean to score.

Ozil increased the tally in the 7th minute with a cool finish which caught David De Gea ball watching.

Again, it was the same quick attacking move from the middle but this time down the left. Cazorla’s ball found Walcott down the right; the English forward pulled away from Daley Blind and played the ball back to Mesut Ozil to score.

As van Gaal’s men regrouped to fight back, Arsenal exploded again in the 19th minute with the same text book movement from the midfield but this time Alexis Sanchez needs to be applauded for scoring such a screamer brushing off Matteo Darmian and Chris Smalling before firing one past the helpless De Gea.

Van Gaal’s decision to play Bastian Schweinsteiger and Michael Carrick in central midfield sold the midfield battle to the quick and pacey Arsenal midfielders.

The introduction of Antonio Valencia and Marouane Felliani in the second half gave United a steam but it was too little too late for them to wrestle a comeback as the damage had already been caused.

The gunners have now leapfrogged from the fourth spot to second on the league table going into the international break.
