Ghanaian midfielder Kwame Bonsu made his debut for Swedish side Gefle IF on Monday night as he helped to record a crucial away victory after Halmstad BK 1-0 in the Swedish top-flight.

The 20-year-old former Heart of Lions midfielder was introduced on the 78th minute mark to anchor the Gefle midfield and help shield the lead given them by Anders Baath-Sjoblom as early as the third minute.

Bonsu impressed for the 12 regulation minutes he lasted, ensuring his side ended the game with the maximum points as they grabbed their third away victory of the season.

He took to Instagram to express his delight after the game: “[Such a great feeling to take home 3 points in a debut game for my new club. Now let’s keep our heads up and focus on the next game.”

Ghanaian midfielder King Osei Gyan who started the game for Halmstad BK was substituted in the 35th minute.
