JUL 18, 2015 LISTEN

Wa All Stars completely outplayed Sekondi Hasaacas in a 1-1 draw at the Sekondi stadium in Saturday's Week 22 fixture.

Hasaacas took an early lead in the 4th minute from the penalty kick converted by left back Augustine Arhinful after striker Samuel Afful was impeded by goalkeeper Richard Ofori.

From there on was a classical football showpiece from the Wa based club.

The quick recovery of possession by the visitors helped them to constantly press their opponent with fast pace build ups.

Midfielder Joseph Mugri on two separate occasions made crucial interception and block with his timely track backs to deny Emmanuel Ocran from scoring for Wa All Stars.

The Giants of the West also clearly missed their head coach Yusif Basigi who is leading the Black Queens to next year's Olympic Games qualifiers against Cameroon in Yaonde.

The manner his team struggled at home was unbelievable despite the determination of his assistant Jojo Ampah to consolidate their recent good run.

Emmanuel Gyamfi played the best individual game at this field so far this season mesmerizing the defense of Hasaacas especially Arhinful who on various times crawled on the turf.

The visitors pulled parity with three minutes to recess when left back Joshua Otoo roofed in from an indirect free kick in the penalty box.

Wa All Stars fought for the ball and showed incredible energy while they survived dangerous incursions from Hasaacas in the second half.

Goalie Ofori showed awareness in post as blocked shots from open plays, free kicks and rebounds.

At some points the woodwork became the nemesis of Hasaacas as both Emmanuel Ankobea and Theophilus Awotwe had their close range headers hitting the bar.

Referee Desmond Abbey also contributed his controversial bit to the game when he booked Kweku Baffoe in the 70th minutes for what he saw as diving when the player went down for a seeming challenge from goalie George Owu.

The most amazing feature of the game was the resounding support coach Jimmy Cobblah and his team enjoyed all because of four Sekondi-Takoradi based players in his fold.
