Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu could become captain of Udinese according to Mohammed Gargo

Ex Ghana midfielder Mohammed Gargo has urged Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu to remain at Udinese since he is in line to be the club's next captain.

The 24-year-old is widely rumoured to being on his way to play in the English Premier League after holding talks with Stoke City earlier this month.

Badu has been with the Italian club since 2010 and is now considered one of the senior members of the club's first team.

But the Ghana international has never hidden his ambition to move onto are more competitive league in England while also improving his wages.

But Gargo who was the last 'blackman' to have captain Udinese believes Badu is better off staying put to succeed him as the next African to wear the captain's armband for the Zebrette.

'I think he should stay at Udinese,' Gargo told Metro TV.

'Udinese have a good record with African players and I think if he stays a bit longer he can become the captain of the team.

'I know how it feels to want to move to a different club for all kinds of reasons but for e I think he should stay at Udinese because that is the best place for him.'
