Asamoah Gyan is the 8th highest wage earner in World football after sealing a 2-year move to the Chinese side, Shangai SIPG

The deal will see him earn $350,000-a-week (£227,000), a weekly amount only bettered by a handful of the planet's best players.

Gyan was earning  $250,000-a-week at his erstwhile club Al Ain, but his new deal has placed him alongside the sport's top earners.

Gyan per this new wages is also the highest paid African player beating, the Ivorian skipper Yaya Toure.
