Midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has hailed Asamoah Gyan's imminent move to Chinese club Shanghai SIPG, describing it as a 'great' move for the Black Stars captain.

The 29-year-old is on the verge of sealing a mega move to the ambitious Super League side which will make him one of the top earners in World football.

Gyan will reportedly earn in excess of $300,000 in weekly wages once he seals his move to Shanghai from UAE club Al Ain who were paid a fee in the region of €20m for the Ghanaian.

The move appears to have sunk in well with many of Gyan's fans who were left bitterly disappointed with his shocking move to Al Ain back in 2011.

His international teammate Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has endorsed to the move - believing it is time for his national team captain to cash in on immense achievements in his career.

“Great move, excellent ideas from his managers, he should go and enjoy,” the Udinese star told Metro TV.

“I am 100% behind him. He has done everything so what else is left?

“I spoke to him this morning and I congratulated him for this move.”

Gyan spent four years in the UAE where he helped Al Ain to three domestic league titles, a President's Cup and one Super Cup trophy.
