Tunisian side Esperance have confirmed Black Stars defender Harrison Aful will leave the club after failing to extend his contract .

Afful, who joined the Tunis based club in 2009 saw off his contract which expired on the 30th of June 2015.

The former Asante Kotoko man helped Esperance to win the CAF Champions League in 2011 the highlight of the six years in Tunis scoring the winner in the final.

He also won the league title and the league cup during his time in the Tunisian league and won the best goal for the 2014/2015 league season.

Afful was a key member of Ghana’s squad which finished second in the just ended Africa cup of nations in Equatorial Guinea playing in every game as the team lost to Ivory Coast in the final. He was also a member of the Ghana’s team that played in the world cup in Brazil playing in two of the three group games.

He will now look to secure a new adventure after enjoying maximum success in his time in the Tunisian league.

“Esperance Sportive de Tunis wish Afful well in his new adventure after spending this long journey of six years with us” a statement read.

Afful’s last game for the Gold and red side was in their 3-0 loss to Al Ahli in the CAF Confederations cup last week.
