Businessman Sir Sam Jonah translated his business acumen onto the Achimota golf course, winning the ultimate prize in the June Medal play.

Playing on a double handicap of 19, he returned an impressive net score of 69 to run home with the men's Group 'B' topmost prize.

Following closely on the heels of the winner is Chris 'Tiger' Apau Oppong, key handicap member, who beat Aryekwei Armah on count back with a 71 net score.

It was Kwame Akafo who dominated in the Men's 'A' event after recording a 69net score. Eddie Addo and Carl Brew Aidoo finished second and third with scores of 70 and 72 respectively.

Lynn Mitchell also recorded a 69net score to pick the ladies silverware after beating Jessica Tei by just a stroke. Efia Konadu placed third with a 76 net score.

Rossam Bother, 68net, picked the Guest Player Award.

Ghana Golf Association (GGA) president Dr Felix Frempong urged golfers to cultivate the habit of playing alongside their children in subsequent monthly medals.

He commended them for coming in their numbers to keep up the monthly event.

Meanwhile, action returns to the Achimota Golf Club tomorrow for a special Republic Day competition.
