The last game of the Zonal qualifiers of the MILO® Champions League (MCL) was played last Friday at theKoforidua Sec. Techfield with Benpong Methodist primary from the Eastern region white washingKponeBawaleshie Primary from the Greater Accra region 5-0 towin the Zone and book their ticket to the National finals of the MILO® Champions League in Kumasi.

Zone 4 was made up schools drawn from the Greater Accra, Eastern and Volta regions. The game which was to be the last of weeks of zonal qualifiers across the country saw the host team dominating proceedings from the beginning to the end of 50 minutes of exciting and entertaining football from both sides. Though they lost heavily in the finals, KponeBawaleshie together with Camboni primary from the Volta region also booked their place in the finals of the competition to be played between the 9th to the 11th of July 2015 at the Paa Joe Park in Kumasi (KNUST)

Speaking ahead of the final game at the Koforidua Sec. Tech Park, Mr. Jude Adison, the Category Business Manager (Beverages) of Nestle Ghana Limited said though Nestle MILO® have been organizing football events for years, the MCL eventis very special to the brand since it’s the maiden event. “There are all indicators that the national finals in Kumasi will be very exciting and we will want to assure all the kids who will be involved an exciting events”.

“Come the final event, Ghanaians will see an exciting display of football by our young talents and we should all note that these are future champions that will make our country proud in the near future”. Mr. Addison added.

He further assured the whole nation that the final event will be broadcast live on GTV and GTV Sports Plus and further asked for the support of all Ghanaians in their quest to help develop talents for mother Ghana.

Kalpohin primary from the Northern region, Garu Presby Primary from Upper East, Yayumbe from the Upper West, Kintampo Methodist from Brong Ahafo and Buobai primary from the Ashanti, West Ridge from Central, Bia Yawmetwa from the Western region, KponeBawaleshie Presby primary from the Greater Accra region, Camboni primary from the Volta region as well as Benpong Methodist primaryfrom the Eastern region are the ten finalists who will battle it out against each other with hopes of winning the whooping GHC 10, 000 prize money as take.

Top officials of Nestle Ghana Limited, Ghana Education Service, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ghana Football Association, and Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly as well as chiefs and former national team players will join tournament icons Stephen Appiah and DedeAyew at the national finals which will be held between the 9th and 11th of July 2015 at the Paa Joe Park inside Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi.
