MAY 28, 2015 LISTEN

Black Stars captain and Al Ain striker, Asamoah Gyan has backed his club's manager, Zlatko Dalic to remain at his post despite the team's inability to make it to the final of the Asian Champions League.

According to Gyan even though the UAE champions crashed out of the continental competition; they did so in an impressive fashion and hence the Croat coach deserves some 'respect'.

Supporters of the club [Al Ain] have been calling for the coach's dismissal on social media after the club was eliminated from the Asian Champions League on the away goal rule after drawing 3-3 to Al Ahli.

However, Gyan defended Dalic [coach] immediately following Wednesday's encounter, citing his record at the Garden City side since he was installed as manager 15 months ago.

'…Why not? He's done an incredible job. This game was the first we lost in the Champions League. Tactically we've done well; we're the team that conceded the least goals.

'Zlatko has done a good job; he needs a bit of respect. If he leaves then its football, but I don't think he should. He needs respect,' Gyan said in a post match interview.
