Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Vincent Oppong Asamoah wants the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and other stakeholders of football to make a conscious effort in bringing back some of the Ghanaian players who are warming benches and on slave contracts abroad.

There are talks that the First Capital Plus premier league needs quality players to boost crowds after the displays of Godwin Attram , Richard Kinston and Dan Quaye since they joined Great Olympics.

Many have suggested that some of the struggling foreign-based players should emulate the trio and come back to play in the league.

In an interview with Joy Sports Hon Oppong Asamoah said “in fact there have been some discussions with some GFA officials to try and make a conscious effort to attract some of the players struggling to get playing time abroad.”

“Lots of our players are just out there warming benches so if we can bring back these guys I think the stadium will be full."

“So there should be that conscious effort, the GFA and all stakeholders should come together to ensure that we get the quality that we all need.”
