Can Hearts Spoil Oly Party?

Just as Accra Great Olympics are scheming to deflate hearts of oak's confederations cup ego, so is the latter plotting to mar the former's 61st anniversary celebration.

The Accra Stadium game is one of five derbies in the First Capital Plus league this weekend, and there is every indication that it will churn out good footworks.

Both teams have a point to prove. While the Phobians enter the game to demonstrate why they are a force to reckon with in this year's CAF Confederations Cup, the Dade boys have proven beyond doubt lately that given a level playing ground, they can be deadly.

Hearts' continental conquests, snatching victory on foreign land against Malian giants, Djoliba, will undoubtedly draw the fans to rally behind them.

Their performance in the domestic league however is nothing to write home about, as they occupy the 9th spot with 18 points.

But if goodwill from their faithful is anything to go by, based on their continental form, then their target to mar the Agorsu men's party could be realized.

Oly on the other hand are spurred on with the presence of experienced charges like Richard Kingson and Godwin Attram who have blended so well with the up-and-coming ones.

A cake for their 61st milestone was cut last Tuesday at the studios of Metro TV to mark the anniversary; but they have planned a bigger party, hoping to use Hearts as icing on their cake.

Other regional derbies will see Aduana hosting Bechem United, with Medeama traveling to play Hasaacas.

Asante Kotoko will journey to Obuasi to battle New Edubiase, while current leaders Ashgold play as guests of Wa All Stars.

Today at the Tema Park, third-placed WAFA face Inter Allies who are fourth on the standings with just a point separating them.

At Kpando, Lions will host Liberty Professionals.
