The 32-man draw has been whittled down to just four players, who are all in action on Day 5 at the Accra Sports Stadium Tennis Court.

The semi-finals feature four of the Ghana’s top five players:

[1] George Darko vs. [3] Wisdom Na-Adjrago
[6] Benjamin Fumi vs. [2] Jeff Bagerbaseh
Darko and Adjrago meet in a re-match of this year’s 1st National Ranking final, which the Aviation star won 6-7(4), 7-6(5) ,6-1.

Darko leads the pair’s head-to-head series 2-1 and he comes in on a two-match winning streak against the Koforidua based.

Jeff takes on Fumi in a repeat of this year’s National Ranking semi-final. The Winneba based who leads their head-to-head series 3-0.

After Darko , Bagerbaseh and Adjrago had all booked their place in the semi-finals, Hayford had the chance to set up a big four reunion in the Final Four, only to fall to Fumi after beating him 6-3,6-4

Jeff’s FIVE: Jeff remains on course for an unprecedented 2 nd McDan Open title this week. The Winneba based, who is making his 2nd appearance, leads the way with the first titles to his name. He was a champion here in 2014. Jeff became the first player to the title for the first time.

CHASING TITLE NUMBER 1
Darko seeking his first McDan Open title, having lost the title last here to Bagerbaseh in the final. The 24 years old is also aiming to become the 1st player in the Open Era to win 3 National titles in a row.

Wisdom Na-Adjrago: Wisdom is set to contest his first McDan Open semi-final. The Koforidua based surpassed Bernard in the third round before his quarter-final victory over Kwabena Ofosu Bamfo Dugbah.

And also in the Women’s Singles, No.1 seed Francisca Nyarko will face Annett Cruickshank in the second Women’s semi-finals game.
