'I want to beg the pardon of the club, its players and the fans because I have asked to leave even though they did not want me to.'

'It was an opportunity for my future. When I received the offer, I called the president many times so he would accept it. It was important for me. I want to thank the club, the fans, the coaches and the players. I have learned a lot here, and improved a lot,"

The above quotes were the good-bye message from Mubarak Wakaso to Espanyol faithfuls after he decided to leave the Spanish club in August 2013 to Rubin Kazan, but now it appears the Ghana international would welcome the chance to return to the Catalan club.

Wakaso showed flashes of his undoubted talent while making 27 appearances in his last season for Espanyol, scoring just three times while picking up 17 yellow and two red cards during those games.

However, Wakaso's €6 million move to the Russian club was jeopadised with injuries and drop of form which eventually impelled him to sign for Scottish side Celtic on loan last Summer.

The midfielder has had an underwhelming loan spell at Celtic Park featuring in just a handful of games for the Scottish giants, and has been resigned to a place on the bench even after impressing at the AFCON tournament in January.

With Celtic manager Ronny Deila unwilling to make Wakaso's loan move permanent, the 25-year-old would fancy a return to Espanyol if his post on his facebook wall is to be believed, a club that he undoubtedly played his best football for.

Wakaso has made just five appearances for Celtic in the Scottish Premier League since transferring from Rubin Kazan. The Ghanaian has started four of those games and came in once as a substitute.
