Former Asante Kotoko coach Hans Dieter Schmidt has made a 500-Euros for the funeral rites of his former player Michael Asante who died three weeks ago.
According to Footballmadeinghana, the German trainer has passed the money through former Kotoko defender Joseph Hendricks.
Schmidt broke down when he heard news of Asante's death and paid glowing tribute to the former hard working midfielder.
Asante and Schmidt reached the final of the 2004 CAF Confederation Cup where they missed out on winning the maiden edition of the title to local rivals Hearts of Oak.
