Baby Jet Flies Home For Tagoe Fight

Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan is expected home from oil-rich Dubai tomorrow for the Emmanuel Tagoe/Joebert Delos Reyes fight this Friday, DAILY GUIDE SPORTS can confirm.

The Al-Ain marksman, who is also the president of Baby Jet Promotions, a fast improving boxing syndicate, has a passion for the pugilistic sport.

'Like music, boxing has always been a passion. I love the sport and love it most when I am at the ringside. I have a game on Tuesday, but I will definitely be around for Friday's bout.

'I call Tagoe from time to time to check on how he is faring and indications are that he is under strict instructions regarding his diet and training program,' Gyan said on telephone.

As usual, the two boxers at a press conference yesterday traded words to signify how ready they were for the clash.

For Tagoe, the fight represents a lifetime duel, and he pledged to go all out to add to his 'collections' which will draw him closer to a title fight later in the year.

His 26-year-old Filipino opponent, on the other hand, said through an interpreter that 'I am here to demonstrate the Philippines type of boxing.'

Rates for the bout are GH¢200, GH¢100, GH¢50 and GH¢10 for VVIP, VIP, Regular and Fans Stands respectively.
