Black Stars coach Avram Grant has advised local players not to rush into signing contracts with foreign clubs.

The Israeli has come under attack in recent times for excluding local players in his squad for recent friendlies against Senegal and Mali in France.

Only Ashantigold goalkeeper Fatau Dauda got the chance to sneak into his squad for the two games.

But the former Chelsea manager has parried criticism about his perceived disinterest for local players advising them to mature on the domestic scene before jumping the ship.

“If I can give them advise, sometimes it's better to stay in the league in Ghana for one or two more years to develop before going to Europe,” he said

“Because in football if you are good it doesn't matter where you play everything will go on well with you.” Grant said.

Local Ghanaian players have the penchant of jumping the next flight abroad with the least chance for 'peanut' due to perceived decline of the top-flight.
