Sports News Directive: President's plea to GFA long overdue - Nyaho Tamakloe
FEB 27, 2015 LISTEN

Former Ghana Football Association chairman, Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe says President John Dramani Mahama's call on the FA to give equal attention to national teams in the country is long overdue.

President Mahama in his state of the nation address on Thursday, called on the Kwesi Nyantakyi  led administration, to give attention to other national teams and the local league just like they do for the Black Stars.

This Tamakloe said it's a call in the right direction.

"It is a call in the right direction." He told Joy FM. "I think it  is even long overdue. The FA is definitely aware that apart from the Black Stars, all football teams we have across the country are not doing well.

"The FA is equally aware many things have been neglected. Formally, we use to have regional groupings or district groupings as a nursery to feed the national teams, but it appears for one reason or another, they've been neglected for a long, long time.

"So I think the president's call is in the right direction. There's no doubt about that."
