Veteran footballer pledges drainage and Lorry Park

An aspiring assembly member of the Santa-Marie Electoral area in the Ga-Central Municipality, Abdul Kadir Billy Lomotey-Tagoe, says he was optimistic of winning the election to support efforts by city authorities in upgrading the community.

Briefing this reporter, the veteran footballer promised to construct a drainage facility to curtail flooding in the area and a lorry station at Santa- Marie (Osekuwa) to help curtail the hustle commuters go through when looking for vehicle.

Recalling his tenure as a unit committee member in 2005, Lomotey-Tagoe said he lobbied for street lights for the electoral area which ensured their safety.

“When I was elected as the unit committee member in 2005, i didn't abandon my people but I devoted my time and energy in executing developmental projects that are needy to them and I believe they would forever remain loyal to me.”

“I also funded many students education in Senior High school and Junior High school, especially needy but brilliant ones whose parents could not afford to push them further” said the veteran footballer.

The veteran footballer expressed concern about the deplorable nature of roads, and lack of potable water for residents in the area, and therefore promised to lobby non-governmental organizations and philanthropists, to support in the area's development.

Lomotey-Tagoe said he played instrumental roles in shaping the talents of some youth in the area and beyond in careers such as football, welding, carpentry, electrical and auto mechanic.

“I wish the government will help the district in the first place by assisting them adequately with resources so that we can also derive help from them to develop our electoral area” he said.

On sanitation Lomotey-Tagoe, pledged to improve the sanitation condition in the community by instituting two weeks sanitation program that will help eradicate cholera.

He urged government to assist the district assemblies by resourcing them adequately so that they (assembly members) can also derive help from the district when the need arise.
