President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi has sounded a warning trumpet to all Division One League clubs to desist from all forms of violent conduct ahead of the start of the new season.

Speaking to www.sports24gh.com yesterday at the launch of the GN Bank three-year sponsorship deal, he said, "The FA will descend heavily on any club that indulges in violence of any form because such conduct can put a sponsor image into disrepute and we are not going to allow that."

"The FA is very delighted that GN Bank has come on board to sponsor our second tier league and we are going to give them the necessary backing to make sure that they recoup whatever they are putting into this sponsorship package," he said.

"I think this sponsorship will go a long way to benefit the clubs because playing in Division One which is sometimes referred to as, 'the wilderness' is very difficult.

As an association, we'll make sure that the necessary security arrangement will be put in place and I can assure you that any club found culpable of any violent conduct will be dealt with," he added.

The Division One League begins this Sunday, February 21 at all the various league centers.
