FCPB Marketing Manager advice Ghanaian Football Clubs

30.01.2015 LISTEN

Mr. Nana Yaw Kesse Head of marketing and corporate affairs of First Capital Plus Bank, has advised the various club administrators in Ghana to make their clubs attractive.

Mr. Kesse, who was sad with the low patronage of the league matches admonished the clubs to take on some remedial measures to address the situation.

“Our teams need to make the people in their respective towns feel a part of the team. They have to see that they have a role to play in the progress of team.” He noted.

The former student of St. Augustine's College further stated that uninterrupted information flow will also promote the game largely. “Information flow from the clubs to the media is vital for the promotion of the game. Pre and post match interviews should be taken seriously by the clubs. The players should also use twitter to promote themselves as is done abroad” Mr. Kesse added.

The Ghana premier league has recorded low patronage from the local fans in recent times despite the huge sponsorship package from First capital plus bank.

First Capital Plus Bank on 4 February 2014, became the headline sponsor of the Ghana Premier League after signing a 5 year sponsorship deal worth ten million U.S dollars ($10,000,000).

However, Mr. Nana Yaw Kesse believes the package is not enough to make the league lucrative hence the need for various club administrators to sell their clubs well to the fans.

He advised the clubs to make conscious efforts by going to cooperate organizations for sponsorships to help sustain their teams.

“Clubs should make a conscious effort to get sponsorship packages from cooperate organizations to augment what they already have,” Mr. Kesse expressed.
