Ghana will look to change it's history against South Africa when the two team clash in a final AFCON group c clash in Mongomo on Tuesday according to captain Asamoah Gyan.

The Black Stars have recorded just two wins in six clashes at senior level against the South Africans with their last clash in in 2010 going the way of the Bafana Bafana, but with a spot in the quarterfinal at stake,Ghana is using it's poor record to psyche itself.

"Sometimes these things happens in football. We talk about history and it works because teams psyche themselves with history and it is true ours against[South Africa] is not the best  but i hope we can change things around .We have wonderful, young players who are also talented and we are thinking of how we can win the game and nothing else."

After playing through ill health to score Ghana's late winner over Algeria, Gyan says he is far from recovered but is willing to take risks with his health to ensure qualification.

"Everybody knows about my condition but i am here to die for my nation. When my colleagues see me they get motivated so I am here to do that and make sure we qualify.

I will not say I am 100% but in life we need to take risks and that is what i will do .When i tune my mind to something i do it because I am mentally tough."
