Sports News 26-man squad: Avram Grant must cut squad before Spain preparations
DEC 27, 2014 LISTEN

Black Stars coach Avram Grant will have to drop five players from his provisional squad for the 2015 African Cup of Nations before the senior national team travel to Spain for their pre-tournament camp according to Black Stars management committee chairman George Afriyie.

The former Chelsea boss name a 31-man provisional squad which was set to be cut to 23 for the AFCON tournament in January. The new Black Stars coach would however have to start his chopping earlier as only 26 players can make it to Spain for the preparations.

George Afriyie told MTNFootball.com:
'The coach presented a list of 31 players but he can only take 26 players to the camp.

'He [Avram Grant] will have to cut five players before the team leaves Accra to Spain.'

Grant pulled of some suprises with his 31-man provisional list and Ghanaian football enthusiasts await to see if there are more stuns in the bag as to who gets cut out of the squad.
