Ghana international attacker David Accam has denied reports that suggest he has signed for American Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire.
The 24-year-old was reported to have signed for the American top-flight side with his club Helsingborg confirming they have reached advanced stages with a club about signing him.
However, the player who notched 17 goals in the Swedish Allsvenskan with Helsingborg in the just ended Swedish season has denied reports he has signed for a Fire.
“I am still in Ghana and has not signed on to any team yet,” he told Fotbolltransfers.com
Accam has been linked with a number of European and American sides including CSKA Moscow, Leicester City, West Bromwich Albion and Tigres from Mexico in recent months.
“I have been in contact with many clubs but I don't want to mention any names,” he added.
Despite failing to reveal a name, he says he is close to joining a club. “I will not say it's close but I am pretty sure p who I will sign on for. I can't be specific, but anything can happen, he concludes.”
