DEC 13, 2014 LISTEN

Schalke's General Manager Horst Heldt says Kevin-Prince Boateng needs more time out to enable him recover properly from an ankle injury.

The 27-year-old has missed four successive games for the Royal Blues with no return date in sight.

Boateng is suffering from an ankle injury which he has been treating in recent times with shots of injections to enable him play matches.

But the German club wants a permanent solution to this problem.

Schalke general manager Horst Heldt says the Ghanaian will need more rest on the sidelines to help in his improved recovery program.

“We have to wait for Kevin,” he said.
“The injury is very sensitive. Once he fold over or a blow abbekommt, there may be a setback.

“First and foremost, he needs rest.”
Schalke boss Roberto Di Matteo is this set to be without the influential forward for a bit more time.

This also means the former AC Milan star could be unavailable for selection by Ghana for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations provided his indefinite suspension from the team is lifted by the Ghana FA.
